Intel Nova Lake Platform Passes USB4 and PCIe 5.0 Compliance

Intel Nova Lake Platform Passes USB4 and PCIe 5.0 Compliance

Intel's Core Ultra 400-series "Nova Lake" processors are approaching their official launch after successfully passing compliance tests for USB4 and PCIe 5.0 standards. The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) has certified two Nova Lake-H device IDs for USB4 compliance, while the Nova Lake desktop chipset PCH-S is certified for USB 3.2 Gen 2.

Intel appears to have used a strategy called Qualification by Similarity, testing a laptop CPU and a desktop chipset to cover multiple products without revealing flagship details prematurely. On the PCIe side, Intel's 900-series chipset has been certified for some time, and recently, new CPU device IDs associated with Nova Lake-S have passed PCIe 5.0 x16 root complex certification.

Final Steps Before Launch

Passing these compliance tests is typically one of the last steps before a platform launch. This progress indicates that Intel's Nova Lake platform is nearing readiness for market introduction, supporting the latest USB4 and PCIe 5.0 standards for high-speed connectivity and expansion.
