Sonnet has released the Solo10G T5, a new Thunderbolt 5 adapter that provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for computers with Thunderbolt or USB4 ports. The adapter features a single RJ45 port supporting 10 GbE over Cat 6 and Cat 6A cables, covering distances up to 55 and 100 meters respectively.
The Solo10G T5 is compatible with Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, and USB4 systems, and works across Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms. It also supports 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps speeds when connected to compatible multi-gigabit networking equipment.
This bus-powered device consumes 7.5 watts and comes in a fanless aluminum enclosure measuring 79.5 by 114 by 27.2 millimeters, weighing 260 grams. It includes a replaceable 0.3-meter Thunderbolt 5 cable and supports AVB on Mac systems. Security features include hardware-based firmware authentication and encrypted updates.
