LILYGO has released the T-Dongle-C5, a USB dongle based on the Espressif ESP32-C5 chip. It supports dual-band WiFi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, and 802.15.4 for Zigbee and Thread protocols.
The device includes 16MB of flash storage, 8MB PSRAM, and a microSD card slot integrated into the USB connector. It also offers an optional 0.96-inch color OLED display and a Qwiic expansion connector for additional peripherals.
The ESP32-C5 features a single-core 32-bit RISC-V processor running up to 240 MHz, with a secondary low-power core at 40 MHz for power-sensitive tasks. This makes the T-Dongle-C5 suitable for wireless and IoT applications requiring USB connectivity and expandable storage.
Technical Highlights
The T-Dongle-C5 builds on the earlier ESP32-S3-based T-Dongle-S3, adding support for dual-band WiFi 6 and increased memory. It connects via a USB-A male port, making it compatible with many host devices.
